2.3b AM Synthesis

Amplitude modulation or AM works in a similar way to FM except instead of the frequency being modulated… you guessed it… the amplitude is being modulated. Notice how when the amplitude of the modulator signal is at its peak, the carrier signal amplitude is scaled relatively. AM uses unipolar modulation. That means the amplitude is scaled from 0 to 1 based on the modulator signal.
